Summary

In this study, the experimental data on heat transfer coefficient of free convective condensation on a horizontal plain tube are presented for R1234ze(E), R1234ze(Z), R1233zd(E), R134a and R245fa. Condensation experiment is conducted with a copper plain tube of 19.12 mm in outer diameter and 400 mm in the heat transfer length. The experiment covers saturation temperatures from 20 to 60°C and the degrees of wall subcooling from 0.77 to 28.81 K. The measured Nu of R1234ze(E) and R1234ze(Z) are agree with theoretical Nu equation within a bias of 6%. However, the experimental Nu of R1233zd(E) is biased +25%, on average, to the theoretical Nu. For more accurate HTC prediction, the sufficient transport property data would be needed for R1233zd(E).
