Summary

THE LATEST ADVANCES IN METHODS FOR PREDICTING THE CONDENSATION OF NON-AZEOTROPIC REFRIGERANT MIXTURES IS BRIEFLY REVIEWED. FOR OUTER-SURFACE FILMWISE CONDENSATION, CALCULATION METHODS SUITABLE FOR USE IN DESIGN ARE BECOMING AVAILABLE. HOWEVER, EXTENSIVE RESEARCH IS NEEDED NOT ONLY IN THE MECHANISM OF HEAT AND MASS TRANSFER INSIDE A HORIZONTAL TUBE, BUT ALSO IN ENHANCEMENT OF CONDENSATION HEAT TRANSFER BY REDUCING BOTH THE FILM RESISTANCE OF CONDENSATE AND THE DIFFUSION LAYER.
