Condensation heat transfer of R407C in a plate heat exchanger.

Summary

This paper presents the preliminary experimental results on partial condensation inside a commercial plate heat exchanger. The condensation heat transfer coefficients of R407C have been measured at constant inlet superheating and constant saturation pressure, varying the refrigerant mass velocity from 15 to 40 kg/m2.s and controlling the outlet vapour quality between 0.15 and 0.60. A new computational procedure has been developed and compared against the experimental results. For this zeotropic mixture, the Bell and Ghaly (1973) correction has been introduced in the prediction.
