OVERALL TONNAGES OF THESE FOODS CONSUMED IN THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF GERMANY (INCLUDING WESTERN BERLIN) IN 1978 AND 1979, ACCORDING TO THEIR KIND VEGETABLES, FRUIT, FISHERY PRODUCTS, PRECOOKED FOODS, MEAT (NOT INCLUDING POULTRY), DAIRY PRODUCTS, I.E. 406,517 T AND 460,088 T, RESPECTIVELY, I.E. 13.2% INCREASE. TONNAGES OF THESE FOODS CONSUMED IN HOUSEHOLDS, I.E. 210,484 T IN 1978 AND 246,383 T IN 1979, I.E. 17.1% INCREASE, CORRESPONDING TO A VALUE OF DM 1,436,505 MILLION IN 1979. TONNAGES CONSUMED IN INSTITUTIONS, I.E. 196,033 T IN 1978 AND 213,705 T IN 1979 (VALUE DM 968,569 MILLION), I.E. 9% INCREASE. CONSUMPTION PER CAPITA (INCLUDING POULTRY, NOT INCLUDING ICE CREAM) IS EVALUATED AT 14 KG IN 1979 (13.7 IN 1978). THE 1979 CONSUMPTION OF CONFECTIONERY ICE CREAM IS EVALUATED AT 313.2 MILLION LITRES (VALUE: DM 2,170 MILLIARD), THAT OF INDUSTRIAL ICE CREAM AT 391,2 MILLION LITRES, RESPECTIVELY, CORRESPONDING TO A CONSUMPTION PER CAPITA OF 5.1 AND 6.4 LITRES.
