Summary
The new refrigerants of the HFC family, like R134a, R404A et R407C, are more than 10 times more soluble in water than the CFCs R12 and R502. To avoid risks of hydrolysis, the reaction in which water reacts with ester oil to form an acid and an alcohol, a low degree of humidity must be maintained in the HFC/ester oil. To obtain an indication of 30-75 ppm in HFCs and CFCs, two different indicator compositions.
