Summary

IT IS PROFITABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAPACITY RATIOS OF COORDINATED COMPRESSORS AND EVAPORATIVE CONDENSERS IN VIEW OF MINIMUM SPECIFIC ENERGY CONSUMPTION. THE SO-CALLED PRESSOSTATIC CONDENSER CONTROL IS VERY INEFFICIENT IN APPROXIMATING THE ENERGY OPTIMUM. THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE OPTIMUM CONDENSATION TEMPERATURE AND WET BULB TEMPERATURE OVER A WIDE DOMAIN OF WET BULB TEMPERATURE VALUES IS A CONSTANT VALUE FOR GIVEN COMPRESSORS AND CONDENSERS. THIS FORMS THE BASIS FOR THE ECONOMICAL CONTROL OF CONDENSERS WHETHER MANUALLY OR AUTOMATICALLY OPERATED.
