Control of thermal comfort.

Author(s) : BRASIER P.

Summary

In 1986/87, the author carried out a study into human thermal comfort in large offices. The study involved 500 responses from some 350 persons and produced results that failed to comply with accepted models and suggested that so-called "social factors" play a much larger part in the perceptions of thermal comfort than had been thought hitherto. The results suggest that the six main physical variables alone (Fanger's results) are not adequate predictors.
