THE ARTICLE REFERS TO COOLING TOWER SYSTEMS AND HIGHLIGHTS THE PARTICULAR DANGERS POSED BY VARIOUS WATER POLLUTANTS. DIFFERENT WATER SOURCES ARE DESCRIBED RELATIVE TO THEIR USUAL CONSTITUENTS. EMPHASIS IS PLACED ON GOOD ANALYSIS, PARTICULARLY WHERE SEASONAL VARIATIONS APPLY.
