Optimum control of Legionella and corrosion processes in open cooling circuits.

Author(s) : PUGH W.

Type of article: Article

Summary

Suspended solids in cooling tower water will increase corrosion, retard the action of protective chemicals and provide nutrients for bacteria of all types. Mainstream or sidestream filtration of particles down to 10 micrometers will reduce corrosion and show economies in treatment chemicals. Methods are sand or disposable cartridge filters. A.R.T.
