Cost analysis and simulation of absorption system for energy transportation-conversion at an ambient temperature.
Author(s) : JO Y. K., KANG Y. T., KIM J. K.
Summary
The objectives of the paper were to develop a new energy transport system for district cooling application by using type II absorption cycle (type II solution transportation absorption system, type II STA) and to carry out life-cycle cost analysis (LCCA) for the system. Cold energy from LNG storage is utilized as the cooling source of the condenser and the rectifier. In the cost analysis, the comparison of LCC of type II STA with those of type I STA and district heat and cooling system (DHCS) is also studied. From the simulation results, the optimal conditions for COP improvement are suggested. From the LCCA results, it is found that the type II STA system is more effective than DHCS while it is compatible with a type I STA system.
