Critical review of the present status of the ozone depletion theory.
Author(s) : WARD R. B.
Type of article: Article, IJR article
Summary
The present status of the ozone depletion theory, whereby ozone is converted back to oxygen and the cause attributed to chlorofluorocarbons (CFC's), is discussed. Two major reports were published in 1982, which do not present such a bleak outlook as in the past. The conclusion is that there is time for further research without significant risk to human health or the environment and, therefore, there is no need for further regulation on CFC production at this time.
