Summary
Critical comments have been made regarding the correct functioning of hybrid ventilation systems. A hybrid ventilation system will not operate correctly in a modern open plan office with flexible worksites. Malfunctioning of a hybrid ventilation system will result in energy consumption higher than that of any other ventilation system. In the Dutch situation, the preference is for balanced mechanical ventilation with high-efficiency heat recovery, as opposed to hybrid ventilation. This is due not only to the reliable functioning of mechanical ventilation systems but also due to their contribution to a higher-quality indoor environment in urban surroundings. Hybrid ventilation is not a good solution for the ventilation problem of the built environment.
