Summary

This European standard provides the fundamental requirements for large transportable vacuum-insulated cryogenic vessels, designed to operate above atmospheric pressure. Appropriate sections can be used as a guide for vessels designed to work under atmospheric pressure. This standard applies to fixed tanks (on tanker trucks and rail tank cars), to removable tanks, to battery vehicle tanks and to tanks designed to contain chilled liquefied gas as defined by regulations on the transportation of hazardous goods.
