This is the first of two parts of a standard on the mechanical properties of materials at low temperature for cryogenic vessels (see IIR Bulletin, reference 2002-3261). This part deals with the toughness requirements of materials designed for cryogenic vessels at temperatures below -80°C. It also provides testing procedures and compliance requirements.
