Cryogenics: critical currents in high Tc superconductors. III.

Summary

This third special issue of the British journal "Cryogenics" includes 28 papers presented during a conference on critical currents in high Tc superconductors, held in Vienna, Austria, in April 1992. A review of the first two issues (Parts I and II) was published in the "New Books" section of issue 2/1993 of our bulletin. We note the following papers: structure and flux pinning properties of irradiation defects in YBCO; bismuth superconducting wires and their applications; measurement of magnetic forces on small high Tc superconductor single crystals in magnetic field gradients; current transfer conditions from a metallic conductor to a high Tc superconductor; anisotropic pinning and dimensionality effects in YBCO thin films, etc.
