Summary

Substantial numbers (batches of ca. 70,000) of the preserved larvae have been recovered from liquid nitrogen and stocked into open tanks in an aquaculture system where, after an initial delay of only a few days, the larvae have proceeded to grow normally. Upward of a million eggs from a single fertilization of N. virens can now be preserved and made available for toxicity testing and other purposes.
