Type of article: Article

Summary

Different freezing methods for rat embryos are investigated; different temperatures (-30 or -80 deg C) and cryoprotectants are applied. The thawing methods are also described, along with the obtained survival rates. The best results were obtained with -80 deg C followed by rapid cooling. The cryoprotectants were glycerol, DMSO and propanediol/sucrose.
