Summary
Sheep embryos at blastocyst stage were cut into halves and frozen. Control demi-embryos protected only with surrogate zona pellucida upon freezing failed to develop in vivo. Embedding demi-embryos in agar coating before freezing made it possible to obtain 4 lambs out of 77 frozen-thawed demi-embryos transferred.
