Summary
This article describes the current trend of refrigeration oil for alternative refrigerants. PVE (polyvinylether) presented as an alternative candidate for POE (polyolester) for air conditioning systems. The advantages of PVE over POE are better lubricating ability, no hydrolysis characteristics, better solubility with process fluids, better miscibility with HFCs etc. PVE is commercially available and implemented for use with HFC products.
