Description of alternative refrigerants with BACKONE equations.

Type of article: Article
Summary
The BACKONE equations are a family of physically based equations of state (DIBACKONE and QUABACKONE), in which the Helmholtz energy is written as a sum of contributions from characteristic intermolecular interactions. The article determines the parameters of these equations for the alternative refrigerants R123, R124, R125, R134a, R143a, R152a, R218, and R236ea by fitting them to saturated liquid densities and vapour pressures at four temperatures. Results of these calculations are given, with considerations about comparison with experimental results.
