Summary
An algorithm is proposed for selecting the optimum structure of a three-parameter common equation of state of Van der Waals type for the description of PVT properties of one-component refrigerants. On the hypothesis that the critical coefficient of compressibility for the given substance is constant, the PVT data are best described by the common equation of state of Patel-Tage.
