Summary

The sample of swirling cold air diffuser was designed, which was accompanied by a detailed test project. Following the cold air requirement, the swirling cold air experiment table was constructed, and the sample of swirling cold air diffuser was experimented. The result showed that, with a total-pressure of 24 Pa, and a static-pressure of 20 Pa, the induction ratio of swirling cold air diffuser was 1.03, and the induction was effective, low-resistance, and low-power-wasting. Even temperature field was obtained and the maximum temperature difference of the tested room was 0.7° at the plane surface, 0.4° at the vertical surface. Even wind speed field was obtained, and the range of wind velocity was 0.05~0.19 m/s, the mean wind speed 0.99 m/s. Satisfactory air distribution was obtained, along with 100% air distribution performance index (ADPI). The noise of swirling cold air diffuser was low, and it was 53.5 dB at the height of 1250 mm, 3 dB more than the local’s noise. The relative humidity of the air from the diffuser was about 100% lowered and the surface of the diffuser was non-condensation in the cold air conditioner. This novel cold air diffuser enjoys simple structure and low cost.
