Summary

THERMAL PERFORMANCE CAPABILITIES OF THE STAGE SATISFY MOST GENERAL CRYOMICROSCOPY REQUIREMENTS. COOLING AND WARMING RATES CAN BE EFFECTED UP TO SEVERAL HUNDRED KELVIN PER MINUTE ACROSS A TEMPERATURE RANGE IN EXCESS OF 120 TO 375 K. THERMAL GRADIENTS WITHIN THE VIEWING APERTURE OF THE STAGE ARE KEPT SMALL BY CREATING A TORTUOUS CONVECTIVE FLOW PATH FOR THE REFRIGERANT FLUID.
