Design characteristics and performance of a liquid hydrogen tank system for motor cars.
Author(s) : RUDIGER H.
Type of article: Article
Summary
A liquid hydrogen storage system for a hydrogen-powered motor car has been successfully designed, built and tested. Special emphasis was given to low fuel losses caused by parasitic heat input and high mechanical stability. Thermodynamic analysis during cooldown, filling and operation showed very satisfactory performance with an overall loss rate of 1.3% per day.
