Summary

Mention is made of the new legislation in New South Wales, Australia, and the referenced standards and codes which are relevant to microbial control of cooling water systems. Advice is given on some additional microbial control measures that need to be considered for each application, largely based on the writer's experience. Mention is also made of control measures which will also aid in minimizing influences on the enhanced greenhouse effect.
