Design strategies for R744 gas coolers.

Summary
Interest in carbon dioxide as a refrigerant has recently led to development and testing of several prototypes, all of cross flow design. The article employs a validated simulation model to analyze tradeoffs involved in approaching counter flow configuration through multi-slab configurations. It also presents the first experimental confirmation of the model.
