This joint IIR Sections B and E conference held in Purdue, USA, from July 25-28, 2000, is the fourth in a series of international conferences on natural working fluids sponsored by the IIR. The proceedings include 72 papers on all aspects of research on natural working fluids in heat pumping, air conditioning, and refrigerating applications. Main topics: CO2: studies on various applications; heat pump water heater applications, automobile air conditioning and safety; heat transfer; compressors; lubrication and expansion devices; military applications of CO2 heat pumps; hydrocarbons; system performance; compressors and heat exchangers; policy, retrofit and safety; gas cycles; sorption systems; secondary loop refrigeration; ammonia and water as the refrigerant. The papers will be abstracted in a future issue of the IIR Bulletin. The proceedings of this conference will be on sale at the IIR.
