Determination of heat-exchange coefficients at hydrogen condensation in various geometry of condensers.

Summary

An important problem in the separation of hydrogen's isotopes by cryogenic distillation is to establish the shape and dimension of the column and condenser in order to obtain the desired separation and load of the distillation column. The problem was solved by experimental determination of the heat-exchange coefficients using various types of condensers. The condensation heat-transfer coefficients were determined for different shapes and geometries of the condensers as a function of the condensate film temperature drop.
