Number: pap. n. E502

Author(s) : COULOMB D.

Summary

Improving the cold chain for food and health products is necessary all over the world. Despite numerous equipment in developed countries, deaths and diseases are still very important and customer’s behaviours must evolve. Energy savings are also possible. In developing countries, the lack of infrastructures is the cause of very important post-harvest losses: it becomes a food security issue, which will increase in the future. The IIR has recently launched various initiatives to face these challenges.
