Development and operation of a high performance 10 kW absorption chiller.

Summary

The paper describes the development and operation of a rotating double effect absorption heat pump, which uses an aqueous solution of mixed metal hydroxides as the absorbent. The design principles are outlined including the operation of the major components and the ways in which the integration of the processes has been achieved. The operation of the fluid management system is described. Experimental performance data are presented from laboratory testing for the machine operating as a chiller.
