Development of a cryocompress for physiotherapy.

Entwicklung einer Kryokompresse für die Physiotherapie.

Summary

Cryotherapy is used in physiotherapy in many ways: for pain relief, anti-inflammation, treatment of oedemae, and relief of muscle cramps. Local cryotherapy is usually done with cryocompresses or cold gas. Cryocompresses until now have had short effectiveness time and an unsteady temperature. The newly developed cryocompresses feature a circulating cryoliquid, which keeps temperatures constant. Its advantages were demonstrated in laboratory and clinical tests.
