Development of a fundamental equation of state for HFC-125 with theoretical and experimental bases.

Summary
A fundamental equation of state for R125 was established on the basis of not only assessment of the experimental data but also introducing parameters for virial coefficients having the theoretical background of the statistical thermodynamics. The equation can represent the thermodynamic properties of R125 in a range of temperatures 172.52-480 K, pressures up to 70 MPa, and densities up to 1700 kg/m3. The equation represents vapour pressure from the triple point and the critical point within 0.05%; density in the gaseous phase mostly within 0.2%; in the liquid phase within 0.15%; and that in supercritical phase within 0.5%.
