Development of advanced heat pump for hot water supply.

Author(s) : SAIKAWA M., HASEGAWA H.

Summary

Feasibility study for applicability to hotels was done. The system is superior to the conventional gas-fired system and its economic efficiency is competitive. The authors installed experimental facilities (compressor electric input: 50 kilowatt class) and made experiments for confirming high COP of two kinds of heat pumps. One of them is binary cycle and cascade heating system (indirect system) and the other is two-stage compression cycle and cascade heating system (direct system). The authors got good results about the binary system. On the other hand, it became evident that a new type heat exchanger for the two-stage system have to be developed.
