Development of ethanol secondary refrigerant system.

Author(s) : NISHIDA K., SATO H., SANO M.

Summary

Ethanol secondary refrigerant, which consists of an ethanol solution and corrosion inhibitors, has low viscosity and low environmental influence. It is therefore useful in constructing harmless systems to the environment and low energy consumption systems. Ethanol secondary refrigeration system performance tests under the condition close to the actual used, were carried out at various conditions. As a result, it was found no specific corrosion nor seal problems. It was found that the total cost of ethanol secondary refrigeration system is the most economical system at low temperatures around less than 35 °C.
