Summary

The results on the design and development of fast-cycling superconducting magnets for synchrotrons obtained at the JINR Laboratory of High Energies are briefly reviewed. Series production of superferric 2 T dipole and 35 T/m quadrupole magnets operating at 1 Hz for the Nuclotron was provided at the Laboratory in 1987-1992. Hollow superconducting cable cooled with two-phase helium flow at 4.5 K is used for the magnets coil. The novel versions of the magnets were designed and tested during the last several years. The AC power losses in the magnets at 4.5 K were reduced by a factor of 2. The R&D on further use of the high current hollow cable aimed at constructing of 4.5 T, 4 T/s dipole is continued. Construction of model superferric magnets with a pulse repetition rate much higher then 1 Hz and their tests are also in progress.
