Summary

THE ASYMMETRY OF THE FERROELECTRIC HYSTERESIS LOOP, A CHANGE IN THE SIGN AND APPEARANCE OF THE PEAK OF MAGNETOELECTRIC SUSCEPTIBILITY NEAR THE PHASE TRANSITION TEMPERATURE AS WELL AS THE MAXIMUM IN THE TEMPERATURE DEPENDENCE OF SPONTANEOUS MAGNETIZATIONS CAN BE TREATED IN TERMS OF THE THERMODYNAMIC THEORY WITH TAKING THE RHOMBIC SYMMETRY OF THE PARAMAGNETIC CRYSTAL AND SMALL RHOMBIC DISTORSIONS OF THE CUBICAL LATTICE INTO CONSIDERATION. IN MAGNETIC FIELD, A TRI-CRITICAL TRANSITION POINT IS PREDICTED NEAR THE PHASE TRANSITION TEMPERATURE.
