Summary

The objectives of the study were therefore to: establish the incidence of Listeria sp (in particular L. monocytogenes) in Australian dairy processing environments; determine sites of contamination and define possible common problem areas; determine resident populations of Listeria sp. Twelve dairy processing factories from the eastern seaboard States were included in the study.
