Summary
Various methods for preservation of active life were speculated: at room temperature after induction of latent life; at the freezing point after decreasing of freezing point by addition of compatible solutes or by applying a high pressure; through supercooling with antifreeze chemicals, with antifreeze protein, or with a combination of antifreeze protein and ice nucleation protein, and through vitrification were discussed. The ethics of preserving the human body or brain are also considered.
