Summary

The advantages and drawbacks of long-distance transport of perishable foodstuffs in insulated trucks, in compression-system refrigerated trucks and in nitrogen-system refrigerated ones, are given. The advantages of transport in dry-ice refrigerated vehicles are also given. Their operation, design and main technical characteristics are described.
