TONNAGES OF THESE FOODS CONSUMED IN SWITZERLAND IN 1979, DIFFERENTIATING THEIR KIND (VEGETABLES, POTATO PRODUCTS, FRUIT AND FRUIT JUICES, FISH, MEAT, GAME AND RABBIT, POULTRY, PRECOOKED FOODS, BAKERY PRODUCTS, MISCELLANEOUS SPECIALTIES), I.E. 90,184 T ON THEWHOLE (32,811 T IN 1965). ONE OF THE MAIN POINTS IS THE HIGH TONNAGE (15,805 T) OF POTATO PRODUCTS AND 7,952 T SPINACH. CONSUMPTION PER CAPITA IN 1979 IS ALSO GIVEN IN DETAIL BY PRODUCT, I.E. ON THE WHOLE: 14.315 KG (13.4 KG IN 1978), INCLUDING 4.9 KG POULTRY, 4.9 KG VEGETABLES AND POTATO PRODUCTS. CONSUMPTION OF ICE CREAM: IN 1979 5.3% MORE THAN IN 1978, FROM 39,487,626 L TO 41,566,321 L (NOT INCLUDING IMPORTS), I.E. MORE THAN 6.5 L PER CAPITA IN 1979 AND LESS THAN 2.5 L IN 1965. INCREASE IN THE NUMBER OF HOUSEHOLD UPRIGHT AND CHEST FREEZERS OWNED BY LESS THAN 5% OF POPULATION IN 1965 AND MORE THAN 45.5% IN 1979. G.G.
