IN ORDER THAT AN ENERGY RECOVERY CYCLE CAN BE SUCCESSFULLY DYNAMICALLY MODELLED, THE COMPUTER PROGRAM EMPLOYED MUST PROVIDE THE USER WITH THE MAXIMUM OF POSSIBILITIES SO THAT THE TIME REQUIRED FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF A MODEL APPLYING FOR A PARTICULAR INSTALLATION CAN BE KEPT AS SHORT AS POSSIBLE. MOREOVER, THE PROGRAM HAS TO BE CAPABLE OF SIMULATING THE DYNAMIC BEHAVIOUR OF THE PROCESS FOR LIQUIDS, TWO-PHASE FLOWS, AND VAPOURS. THE MEDIUM CAN BE HEATED (INCLUDING EVAPORATION) OR COOLED (INCLUDING CONDENSATION) ; IT CAN BEISOLATED, FLOW THROUGH HEAT EXCHANGERS OR ACCUMULATE IN BUFFERS. THE ARTICLE DESCRIBES SUCH A PROGRAM AND ILLUSTRATES A FEW TYPICAL APPLICATIONS.
