Summary
This article presents the schematic design of a seawater source heat pump air-conditioning system with a typical project example. It compares the economics between the seawater system and conventional air-conditioning systems and the results show that the seawater system is economically feasible under a favourable policy. The simulation result of temperature field in seawater pumping and draining zones indicates that the temperature rise of seawater is far less than the specified value in the "Quality standard for state oceanic water" under the condition of appropriate scale and reasonable design of pumping and draining locations.
