Summary

Broccoli treated with various concentrations of 1-methylcyclopropene for 6 h then stored at 20 °C in air containing 0.1 microliter/liter ethylene showed significantly extended storage life through a delay in the loss of green colour and onset or yellowing. Storage life increased linearly with a logarithmic increase in 1-methylcyclopropene concentration.
