Summary

Investigations were carried out at the Department of Horticulture, Marathwada Agricultural University, Parbhani, India during 1997-98, to find out the effect of planting date and storage conditions on the shelf life of garlic. Bulbs obtained from corms planted on October 20 exhibited the lowest weight loss during storage. Bulbs could be stored for longer in perforated polythene bags compared with non-perforated bags. Storage decay was reduced if bulbs were stored intact (with leaves).
