Summary
Using microperforated film or polyethylene bags enables Chinese cabbages to be kept for 2 weeks at 4 deg C. Cultivar Palma gave good results while cv. CL 415 was prone to preflowering. The Pekinensis type was too large to wrap in normal film. Weight loss during shelf life was considerable especially when highly permeable films were used.
