Summary

THE SPECIFIC HEATS OF MAGNESIUM-ZINC, MAGNESIUM-ZINC-LEAD, ZIRCONIUM-RHODIUM AND ZIRCONIUM-RHODIUM-BERYLLIUM ALLOYS IN THE AMORPHOUS AND METASTABLE CRYSTALLINE STATES ARE MEASURED BETWEEN 2 AND 700 K. SOME SINGULARITIES DUE TO SPECIFIC QUASILOCAL AND LOCAL VIBRATIONS OF THE IMPURITY ATOMS LEAD AND BERYLLIUM ARE OBSERVED IN THE VIBRATIONAL SPECIFIC HEATS OF THE TERNARY ALLOYS. A COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS IS MADE OF THE PERTURBING EFFECT OF HEAVY AND LIGHT IMPURITY ATOMS ON THE TEMPERATURE DEPENDENCE OF THE SPECIFIC HEAT AND ON THE SUPERCONDUCTING TRANSITION TEMPERATURE.
