Effect of intermittent aeration on cooling rate of stored paddy.
Author(s) : LU F. M.
Summary
Field aeration experiments were carried out in a warehouse (30 x 12 x 4.5 m) loaded with 916 tons of paddy. The cooling rate of paddy was found to be faster with intermittent aeration than with continuous aeration. The rising rates of paddy temperature in the upper, middle and bottom layers after aeration were closely related to the rising rate of ambient temperature.
