Summary

HUMAN BLOOD PLATELET CONCENTRATES WERE PREPARED AND FROZEN IN THE PRESENCE OF THE SULPHYDRYL GROUP CONTAINING DRUG MPG. AFTER THAWING AND RESUSPENDING IN MPG-FREE PLASMA, THE PERCENTAGE OF DISCOCYTES AND THE HYPOTONIC SHOCK RESPONSE OBTAINED FROM THE PLATELETS WERE SIGNIFICANTLY HIGHER THAN THOSE OF CONTROL PLATELETS CRYOPRESERVED IN THE ABSENCE OF MPG.
