Summary

The intermittent warming treatment consisted of storing the fruits initially at 0 °C for 10 days, increasing the temperature to 7 °C for 10 or 20 days, then returning to 0 °C for another 30 or 20 days, respectively. Intermittent cooling followed the opposite pattern. Control fruits were stored at constant temperatures of 0 or 7 °C. Chilling injury showed the highest incidence at 0 °C. The best treatments were a constant 7 °C and intermittent cooling.
