Summary

THE INVESTIGATIONS MADE ON WILLIAMS AND DUCHESSE D'ANGOULEME PEARS, TREATED WITH DIFFERENT HORMONAL MATERIALS (15 TYPES) STORED 60 DAYS AT 273-274 K (0-1 DEG C) WITH 80-85% RH SHOW THAT THE TREATMENT WITH ALAR, THREE WEEKS AFTER THE FIRST STAGE IN THE FORMATION OF FRUIT, AT THE DOSE OF 1,500 TO 3,000 PPM, HAS A POSITIVE EFFECT ON THE STORAGE LIFE OF PEARS. THE RESULTS WERE NEGATIVE WITH ETEFON APPLIED 3 TO 4 WEEKS PRIOR TO HARVESTING, AT THE DOSE OF 500 TO 1,000 PPM, AND WITH GA3 APPLIED ONE WEEK AFTER THE FIRST STAGE IN THE FORMATION OF FRUIT AT THE DOSE OF 100 AND 200 PPM.
